Even the lofts of Midtown might have seemed a little tight over the last weeks, and as people carefully venture forth, one thing a lot of us have on our minds is our next workout. We’re in luck, especially in the neighborhood around Atlantic Station. It’s in the nature of many of the independent thinkers and doers here in Atlanta to make fitness a priority, so it is understandable that the resources for doing just that are abundant and close at hand.

Recently reopened as of June 1, LA Fitness in Atlantic Station is once again available. In addition to a notably high-quality facility, this location couldn’t be more convenient. LA Fitness is open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

In a Hurry After the Great Pause

The field of High Intensity Interval Training is of special interest for many of the creative people and entrepreneurs who populate the lofts of Atlanta. The ability of this method to produce maximum results in a focused and feasible amount of time brings a lot of attention to Blast Midtown, on 6th Street NE.

Founder Missi Wolf, studio manager Nikiya Johnson, and their team developed their own high-intensity approach to interval training and named their studio with an acronym, for Balanced Level of Aerobic/Anaerobic and Strength Training. “Oh, and it’s a BLAST,” they say, as well as an efficient way for building muscle, losing weight, and improving the cardiovascular system in a one-hour workout.

Putting it on Peachtree

If high-intensity interval training is not your style, then you need venture no farther than Peachtree Street NE to find two other great possibilities. Because a lot of people who pursue service and technology and professional careers have to get the workout they want whenever they want it, it is worth the wait for the reopening to come of Anytime Fitness Midtown, long the choice of many, and putting precautions in place now. To the flexibility of time, Anytime Fitness adds the advantage of a densely spotted network of gyms across the state, the region, and the nation coast-to-coast. As reopening unfolds, this network will provide a lot of options.

Even closer to the center of Midtown, Lion’s Den Fitness at 9th and Peachtree puts an emphasis on personal training. Accredited personal trainers create customized training plans and lead a series of before- and after-work classes that, in the course of a week, work the body from head to toe.

New Customs that Stick

Some of the adaptations we’ve made in the last couple of months turned out to be so good they are keepers. For lots of Atlanta workout enthusiasts, TV and video links have offered a way to enjoy their at-home workouts from a fresh perspective.

During the recent stay-at-home precautions, one of our favorite resources came from an established team of Atlanta personal trainers at Eclipse 1-on-1. They offered a series of half-hour workouts to do at home, known as Get UP Atlanta. From making their acquaintance that way, several of us are considering making Eclipse our steady studio.

Fitness and the value that comes with it are characteristic among the lofts of West Midtown. For more information on how to own at District Lofts, visit https://owndistrictlofts.com/contact/ or contact us at 404.317.1896.
